Tottenham have submitted a £50 million joint bid for Leicester City duo James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, according to stunning reports.

New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is eyeing Maddison and Barnes ahead of his summer rebuild, per The Daily Mai.

The bid is set to be rejected by Leicester, who suffered relegation from the Premier League this season.

Maddison and Barnes are both in demand, having contributed with 23 goals and 10 assists between them this campaign.

Spurs, though, face stiff competition to land the Leicester stars as Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United are also thought to be interested in the pair.

Maddison, 26, has just a year left on his contract, which could force the Foxes to sell him this summer in order to receive a transfer fee or risk losing him on a free.

He's been at the King Power Stadium since 2016 following his move from Norwich City.

The England playmaker has made 203 appearances for the club, scoring 55 goals.

As for Barnes, the 25-year-old's current contract runs till the summer of 2025.

He graduated from the club's youth academy before making his Leicester debut in the 2016/17 season.

He's played 187 games for the club and has 45 goals to his name.

Postecoglou will be looking for new faces as he plans a mass summer clearout.

Speaking after his appointment, he issued a rousing message to Spurs fans.

"Hi everyone, it’s great to finally get started as manager of this great football club," he said.

"I’m really looking forward to our task ahead, I think it’s an exciting opportunity for us to now set off in a new direction, play football and create an environment that embodies the values and traditions of this fantastic football club.

"Hopefully a team that you can all be proud of and more importantly, get excited by. I can assure you that right through pre-season, we won’t leave any stone unturned, myself, the staff and the players to make sure that when the league comes around that you’ll be as excited as I am about the season ahead.

"I really look forward to seeing everyone at the stadium, in particular at our first home game, and look forward to the journey ahead."
