Mo Salah breaks another 25-year record as Liverpool legend continues to make history
Mohamed Salah has shattered yet another record as his stunning debut season with Trabzonspor continues.
After nine historic and memorable years with Liverpool, club legend Salah left via mutual agreement at the end of the 2025-26 season, later joining Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Just weeks into his two-year deal, the Egyptian has already started breaking records, with his latest performance setting another record as the first player in 25 years to score four goals in their opening three matches.

Despite the fact that Trabzonspor have had a far from ideal start to the 2026/27 season having suffered a shock early exit from the Europa League at the hands of Hungarian club Ferencvarosi, Salah has excelled at his new club.

Although he has had to get used to yet another managerial change during the tough start to the season, Salah had scored three goals in his opening three league appearances ahead of the most recent match against Genclerbirligi.
And it was in this match that Salah once again made history, as he put in yet another stunning performance with a goal and an assist in the commanding 5-0 win.
In doing so, the former Liverpool star became the first foreign first foreign Trabzonspor player to score four goals in his first three Super Lig starts since Opta records began in 2000/01.
To make things even better for Salah, he achieved this feat just days after the birth of his first son, and third child, with wife Magi.
The result takes Trabzonspor to two wins, one draw, and one defeat from their first four matches of the season, leaving them fourth in the league with matches against Galatasaray and Besiktas in the near future.
Salah will also have the chance to make history in another competition soon as he is set to make his first appearances in the Europa Conference League when it gets underway next month.

Of course, should Trabzonspor continue to do well in the domestic league this season, it could see them qualify for the Champions League for Salah's second season at the club.
If this were to be the case, it remains very possible that Salah could soon face a reunion with former club Liverpool should they be drawn together in the European competition.
When faced with this possibility during an interview with Trabzonspor’s club media, Salah admitted that it would be a tricky situation for him to deal with emotionally given his history at Anfield.
“I would feel mixed feelings,” Salah said.
“It’s mixed feelings because I’ve been there nine years. “I love the city, I love the fans, and we always had a special relationship, so it would be very tricky!”
However, it remains to be seen if Trabzonspor can keep their positive momentum up as the season progresses, with Champions League qualification viewed as unlikely given the fact that thier last outing in the competition proper was in 2011/12.
