A face-to-face meeting between Antonio Conte and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is scheduled to take place this week as the fallout continues from the club's latest defeat.
So far, it has been a somewhat erratic campaign for the reigning Serie A champions, who suffered their fifth loss in all competitions on Sunday afternoon as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Bologna.
It is the third game in a row that Napoli have failed to score, and a furious Antonio Conte delivered a quite remarkable assessment of their recent form in his post-match comments.
"Three or four months have passed and there's no chemistry, no desire to fight together. I don't know if we'll be able to change the situation," he said in an interview with DAZN.

"I don't want to be with a deceased person; everyone has to take responsibility. I'm the first to be held accountable. Heart transplants aren't an option. Each of us needs to rediscover our spirit and our grit."

Conte was also self-critical, adding: "We often think that change can happen overnight. What we've done shouldn't be forgotten, but we need to keep working. We need to ask ourselves if we're doing it the right way and with the same desire for revenge as last season."
"I'm disappointed because I'm not finding the energy in the guys again," he admitted. "It means I'm not doing a good job."
Since making the comments, doubts have been raised over Conte's immediate future in Naples.
In fact, a meeting has been scheduled between Conte and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to "understand how and if to move forward together", as per Italian journalist Matteo Moretto.
He added: "The parties will analyse in detail every aspect of this delicate moment."
Former Napoli striker says players no longer want to play under Antonio Conte
Roberto Sosa, who played for Napoli between 2004 and 2008, has made some bold comments after Sunday's defeat to Bologna.
“It’s the typical match you see when the players want to get rid of the coach,” Sosa said, as per Calciomercato.
“The players weren’t even angry despite being two goals down, and I’ve said this before about other teams. Today, I have to say it about Napoli.”

Scott McTominay wants Antonio Conte to sign former Man Utd teammate
McTominay, who has been a revelation since joining Napoli last summer, has urged Conte to sign former Manchester United teammate Kobbie Mainoo in the January transfer window, according to reports.
“Scott has been to see Conte and told him to get Kobbie," a source told The Sun.
“He’s told him all about his strengths and what an outstanding player he is. He knows all about him from his time at United and thinks he would be a great addition to the squad, whether it’s on loan or a permanent deal."
The source added: "He would fit straight in and give Napoli a boost."
