Patrice Evra has made a massive claim about Paul Pogba's future with Juventus as the French midfielder is set to return for football next year.

In February, Pogba was suspended for four years after a sample taken after a Serie A match against Udinese tested positive for DHEA - a compound that promotes the production of hormones in the body including testosterone.

However, on Friday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) officially reduced Pogba's ban to 18 months, meaning he can return to football in March.

And now, close friend Evra has provided an update on Pogba's future with current club Juventus, suggesting he may be set to terminate his contract with the Serie A giants

Speaking to French podcast Rothen s’enflamme, Evra spoke about the recent news surronding Pogab's ban.

He said: “I think that 99% we won’t see Paul in the Juventus colours again. He needs to turn the page.”

The Man United legend also admitted that he planned to phone Medhi Benatia, the sporting director of Olympique Marseille, to speak about Pogba's future.

“I’m going to call Mehdi Benatia to give him [Pogba] a phone call, because the doors are open,” Evra added.

Following the announcement that Pogba's ban had been reduced and he would be allowed to return to football soon, the World Cup winner released a statement announcing his plans to return to the pitch as soon as possible.

"Finally the nightmare is over," the statement from Pogba read, as per Sami Mokbel from the Daily Mail.

"Following the decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again.

"I always stated that I never knowingly breached World Anti-Doping Agency regulations when I took a nutritional supplement prescribed to me by a doctor, which does not affect or enhance the performance of male athletes.

"I play with integrity, and although I must accept that this is a strict liability offence, I want to place on record my thanks to the Court of Arbitration for Sport's judges who heard my explanation.

"This has been a hugely distressing period in my life because everything I have worked so hard for has been put on hold.

"Thank you again for all the love and support. I just cannot wait to get back on the pitch."
