BT Sport forced to edit out Steve McManaman's comment after Real Madrid's goal, it's gone viral

Real Madrid ended the Champions League tie against Chelsea with a goal made by three players, from Uruguay and Brazil.

Steve McManaman made a hilarious commentary blunder, claiming Rodrygo's Champions League goal for Real Madrid against Chelsea was 'made in South Africa.'

There are a many great commentary lines that we can all recite, "Manolas, the Greek God in Rome!," springs to mind from the lips of Peter Drury.

Of course, for Manchester United fans, they'll always remember Clive Tyldesley shouting "Name on the trophy" when Teddy Sheringham scored the equaliser for United in the 1999 Champions League final.

Tyldesley himself explained to SPORTbible that it was the wrong thing to say, though it worked out for him in the end, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going on to score the winner.

At the 2010 World Cup, Siphiwe Tshabalala scored for hosts South Africa in the opening game of the tournament, as they drew 1-1 with Mexico.

Drury again provided the famous commentary, shouting the iconic, "TSHABALALAAAA!!! GOAL BAFANA BAFANA! GOAL FOR SOUTH AFRICA! GOAL FOR ALL AFRICA!"

However, unfortunately for him, it's now not the most brilliant commentary line about the African nation, thanks, surprisingly to McManaman.

The former Real Madrid player was watching his former side beat Chelsea on Tuesday night, as the Blues went down 4-0 on aggregate.

Rodrygo scored the final goal of the tie, with Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde helping set up the goal, meaning it was scored by a Brazilian and set up by a Brazilian and a Uruguayan.

However, instead of South America, McManaman claimed it was a goal made in South Africa, much to the amusement of those watching at home, although BT Sport even edited out of their video on social media.

"'Made in South Africa, Valverde the Uruguayan,’ Steve McManaman needs geography lessons," joked one fan.

"So depressed couldn’t even laugh about the commentator saying a goal set up by Fede Valverde for Rodrygo was ‘made in South Africa,'" said a struggling Chelsea fan.

A third added, "Steve McManaman saying Rodrygo's Valverde-assisted goal was "made in South Africa" is my favourite bit of commentary of the season."

"Made in South Africa, someone tell Steve where Uruguay is," replied another.

"McManaman the gift that keeps on giving," laughed a fifth.

Another posted, "A goal made in South Africa - Erm Mr McManaman I think you will find Uruguay and Brazil might be elsewhere!"

It was already an uphill battle for the Blues on Tuesday, having gone down 2-0 in Madrid last week, thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio.

In London though it was the South Africans who came to the fore, with Rodrygo grabbing both goals in the second half, to give Los Blancos a great chance to defend their title.

They will face either Bayern Munich or Manchester City in the semi finals, with the Premier League champions their most likely opponents.
