This year will see the 68th staging of the Champions League final since the competition was founded as the European Cup back in 1955.

The competition has gone through many changes over the years, with the inaugural European Cup involving 16 teams and 29 matches.

There were no English clubs, however. Reigning First Division champions Chelsea agreed to play, but withdrew under pressure from the Football League.

The teams involved were picked by French football magazine L’Equipe based on their prestige, although many were reigning champions of their respective national leagues.

Real Madrid won the first European Cup, and the subsequent five editions after that.

They have won the competition a record 14 times, with eight of those successes coming since the 1992 rebrand into the Champions League.

Other competitions, such as the Europa League, have also undergone changes, having previously been known as the UEFA Cup until 2009.

In this quiz, we’re challenging you to name the year in which 10 of these European finals took place. You’ll have x minutes to do so, and there is a HINT button to help you out if you get stuck on a question.
