Man Utd make final Marcus Rashford transfer decision as new plan revealed

The future of Marcus Rashford has been a widely speculated topic this summer after Barcelona refused to make his loan move permanent.

Rashford has been linked with several clubs across Europe, including teams in Italy, Germany, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, along with two Premier League sides.

While the England international and his team dealt with the possibility of leaving the club permanently, he has been working under Michael Carrick in pre-season training.

The 28-year-old has spent the last 18 months away from Old Trafford on loan, first at Aston Villa before spending the entirety of last season at the Camp Nou playing for Barcelona.

It would be a successful season in the Catalan capital for the English attacker, as he won his first-ever league title as he helped Hansi Flick’s side to the La Liga.

However, the future of Rashford appears to have been confirmed, as he has been given his number that will be on the back of his jersey for the upcoming campaign.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Man United have given the England international the number 14 shirt ‘as message to trust him’ as he is set to be part of Carrick’s plans.

However, it is still a possibility that he could leave the club, as mentioned by the statement from Romano, but this would only occur if a top European side makes an offer.

The 28-year-old would be a useful asset for Carrick, particularly due to the limited options that he currently has at his disposal in attack.

Rashford can operate from the left or through the centre, when needed, and so he can challenge Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Joshua Zirkzee for a position in the latter.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils’ wing options include Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, and now Rashford, with a youthful option in Shea Lacey.

The fact that Carrick can call upon the services of a striker that scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists last season without having to spend a penny to acquire this sort of talent is advantageous.
