The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has made his latest left-field political pitch, offering UFC boss Dana White a top job in Washington.
Trump hosted a UFC bonanza at the White House this summer as part of the USA's 250th anniversary celebrations, and has now looked to embrace the MMA entertainment company further.
Having seen his Republican Party recently hammered by the Democrats in the country's recent midterm elections, Trump has now made another unusual attempt to curry favour with voters.

President of the United States offers Dana White job in Washington
Donald Trump welcomed Dana White and his fighters to the White House in July, featuring fights from Justin Gaethje, Diego Lopes and more.

The President declared the event a roaring success.
"The UFC at the White House last night was incredible", wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform.
"The weather was scheduled to be horrendous, and it turned out to be PERFECT! So much for weather predicting. The Fighters were outstanding — Bo Nickal, Justin Gaethje, Ciryl Gane, Sean O’Malley, Josh Hokit, Mauricio Ruffy, and Diego Lopes were all unbelievable!
"Most people have never seen anything like that kind of human speed and power before. The White House has never looked more beautiful. The setting was unsurpassed! Congratulations to Dana White and his unbelievable UFC. One of the most exciting days in the History of our fabled White House!"

Trump's proposed latest UFC collaboration
Following Trump's summer garden party, his Republican Party's popularity has since waned, as reflected by voters at poll stations recently. Now the President is looking for new ways to attract voters, and apparently sees something of himself in White's strongman image - offering him the role of Press Secretary.
"I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States," he posted
"I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris. We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
White then posted a picture of himself on social media edited into an official White House press event, apparently speaking from a rostrum, with the caption "On to the next chapter".
The offer follows the short-lived tenure of previous Press Secretary Katie Zacharia, a rightwing influencer who last just a few days in the job in mid-October following a catastrophic opening speech.

Donald Trumps's passion for UFC
It's not the first time Trump has declared his love of the UFC, and White has been a longtime ally.
The UFC found itself shut out of the mainstream in the late '90s when then Republican Senator John McCain declared it "human cockfighting", with 36 US states banning the sport.
However, in 2001, Trump hosted two of White's MMA events at his Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
White has previously spoken on campaigns for Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024.
