Patrice Evra has hilariously recalled how Sir Alex Ferguson was forced to stop a Manchester United training session after he “nearly killed” Gary Neville.

Legendary former United manager Ferguson brought Evra to Old Trafford in the 2006 January transfer window from Monaco in a reported £5.5m deal.

Evra enjoyed incredible success under Ferguson and lifted five Premier League titles, a Champions League and three League Cups during his time at Old Trafford.

The 41-year-old Frenchman left United in 2014 and signed for Juventus, with Evra later playing for Marseille and West Ham before announcing his retirement.

Evra was part of a formidable United defence under Ferguson, which featured fellow club legends Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Neville.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Evra has opened up about the training incident involving Neville which brought him “back to the streets.”

According to the former left-back, Neville told him to “f**k off” after he wiped him out in a challenge and refused to apologise.

Evra claimed Sky Sports pundit Neville did a “backflip” after he put “two legs into his chest,” with fans claiming that the former Monaco man went ‘full WWE.’

“I nearly killed Gary Neville, I’ll be honest with you. Sir Alex Ferguson stopped the training about that,” he said.

“So, I remember, I get the ball. Then Gary Neville comes and he tackled me. He got the ball but he got a little bit of me so I was on the floor. And I looked at him and he was standing there.

“And I said, ‘Gary, you won’t say sorry?’ He looked at me and said, ‘F**k off.’ When he said that, that’s what brought me back to the streets, the hood. I was like, ‘Ahhhh, fine.’ I just stood up. I cleaned my shin. I said, ‘Game on.’

“The ball arrived to his chest. I go and run and I put my two legs into his chest. He jumped also, so I put my two legs into his chest. He did a backflip.”

“I’d pay to watch that training session,” one fan said.

Someone else commented: “Bro drop-kicked Gary.”

“Evra straight drop-kicking Gary is insane. I haven’t laughed this hard at a football story in a while, LMFAO,” a third added.

Another wrote: “I can listen to that over and over again.”

A fifth posted: “Evra would have been an awesome WWE hero.”

While one fan said: “Man does seem to love his pro wrestling.”
