When Kaka Destroyed Lionel Messi For Pace And Scored Glorious Solo Goal

It's not often that Lionel Messi comes second best in a duel but Brazilian legend Kaka gave him a right pasting many years back.

The pair squared off at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium as Brazil and Argentina locked horns in a spicy South American friendly affair.

Dunga's Samba stars were already two goals to the good through a double from former Manchester City midfielder Elano, then playing for Shakhtar - when Kaka scored a sensational solo goal to make it 3-0.

Messi is anything but a slouch, of course, and did his best to catch him, but Kaka's combination of pace and power was electric and he made his way to the opposition box in lighting quick fashion.

He kept going and had the composure to supply a tidy finish that sneaked in despite a defender running back in on the line.

Kaka wasn't exactly known for his pace because he was so complete but make no mistake about it, when he was in his stride and had the ball at his feet, you weren't catching him.

"It's a feeling you can't explain, if you did it you would know," Farid joked, speaking to SPORTbible.

"All jokes aside it's amazing just to get the opportunity to share the pitch him. We just shared like a moment where we kind of hugged it out so there's no hard feelings.

"It hasn't sunk in yet at all. When I saw him walking in I was in I was literally thinking, 'What is Kaka doing in East London?!' - he's one of my idols so it was such an honour and privilege to share the pitch with a legend."
