Newcastle United have been told to stump up a whopping £100 million if they want to land their top transfer target following their Saudi-backed takeover.

The Magpies continue to be linked with a host of new talent ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.

From Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele to Real Madrid's Eden Hazard, with the likes of James Tarkowski and Jesse Lingard also mooted.

But it appears the club are eyeing Ismaila Sarr as one of their main transfer targets.

That's according to the Daily Mail, who claim Watford are holding out for a massive £100 million.

The Hornets, though, want to keep their prized asset in a bid to stay in the Premier League this season.

The report also says that the club believe the Senegal winger can reach a similar level to Jack Grealish, who left Aston Villa for Manchester City in a £100 million transfer.

Sarr, 23, signed for Watford from Rennes in 2019 in a deal worth up to £40 million.

He scored five goals in England's top flight before bagging 13 goals in the Championship to help his team earn promotion last season.

On a personal note, he's enjoying an impressive start to the new campaign, having netted four goals in seven league games.

Sarr has been tipped to become a big star, with Ben Foster hyping up his teammate.

"He is frightening," he said.

"How fast this guy is, I've never seen anything like it.

"His acceleration is phenomenal.

"Not only is he rapid, getting down the wing and putting the ball into the box, but now he's scoring goals as well."

Will Newcastle sign Sarr in January? Watch this space.
