The 20 Most Overrated Footballers Of All Time Have Been Named By Fans

From Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, fans have cast their votes on the most overrated footballers.

Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has been shockingly named the most overrated footballer of all time in a controversial study.

The 40-year-old Rangers boss is widely regarded as one of the best Premier League midfielders of all time alongside fellow legends Frank Lampard and Paul Scholes.

But now Gerrard topped a survey of the 20 most overrated footballers in history, which also features several iconic players.

Ace Football conducted the multiple-choice survey with 6,121 football fans across Europe, with Gerrard taking home 23.5 per cent of the vote.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba came second with 22 per cent of the vote, while legendary Brazilian Pele finished third with 20 per cent.

Argentine icon Diego Maradona and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe finished fourth and fifth respectively with 18 per cent and 19 per cent of the vote.
