Sergio Aguero rang up one of his good friends while live on Twitch - that being none other than six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.

Aguero has been regularly streaming and playing FIFA during lockdown, producing a priceless reaction to missing a chance with himself on Ultimate Team.

But he decided to mix it up a bit when he gave his viewers a treat by calling his compatriot and roommate Messi.

The pair of Argentine aces had a 10-minute chat that started with Messi asking Aguero why he rang him at nine in the morning.

The conversation soon turned to the Manchester City talisman's birthday (June 2) - which they would normally spend together in international duty.

The whole call was of course in Spanish but plenty of Aguero's one million subscribers will have loved the fact he just casually rang up the best player of all time for a quick catch-up.

"What happened to you today that you phoned me at nine in the morning," Messi started the chat.

"I had to do the (COVID-19) test," Aguero answered.

"But why did you call me?" Messi asked for a second time.

"At nine in the morning? ... Me?" A confused Aguero replied to his friend and teammate.

"9 or 10 I don't know, over there. Yes, when I was going to take the test," Messi explained.

Aguero didn't really have a valid explanation for why he rang Messi, saying: "I don't know, it was to say good morning to you. It's just that I saw you on my phone and I said 'Hey, cool,' ... I was bored and well, it was 9 in the morning and I said I'm going to call ... What do I know?"

The City No.10 mentioned to the Barcelona legend that they won't be able to spend his 32nd birthday together and jokingly called him an "asshole" before asking him what Messi was getting him.

Aguero, who uses his Player of the Month awards to keep his camera up, produced an incredible response to packing Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp last year.

The 32-year old quickly discarded a lot of the items he received before getting to Klopp. Aguero paused briefly before also placing the German manager in the bin.

Someone on TikTok edited together a hilarious video showing what was going through the striker's thoughts as he looked upon a rival's card and it's genuinely outstanding.

He was understandably much happier when he was given a unique 99-rated Pro Player card by EA Sports, mere days after ripping into their business model.
