Man Utd target opens the door for Old Trafford move after refusing to rule out summer transfer

Man Utd target opens the door for Old Trafford move after refusing to rule out summer transfer

Osimhen has left the door open for Man Utd transfer.

Victor Osimhen has left the door open for a sensational move to the Premier League this summer after refusing to rule out an exit from Napoli.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been strongly linked with Osimhen, who is enjoying a remarkable season in Italy.

The 24-year-old striker has scored 19 goals in 23 games in all competitions for Napoli.

His goals have helped Luciano Spalletti's side to the summit of Serie A, where they are 15 points clear of closest rivals Inter Milan.

United are considering a move for Osimhen in the summer, with Tottenham striker Harry Kane another potential target for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is reportedly prepared to continue his spending spree by signing Osimhen.

But the Nigeria international is unlikely to be cheap, with Napoli expected to demand at least £100m for the striker.

What has Osimhen said about his future?

When asked if he could leave Naples, Osimhen refused to rule out a move at the end of the season.

"When you are doing so well, top clubs around the world are watching, mostly in the top five leagues," Osimhen told ESPN.

"And to be able to attract interest from these top clubs shows that I am doing great and it gives me the motivation to do even more for myself and my team.

"But I am focused on Napoli right now and they have the final say. I just want to help my team to win matches and win trophies. At the end of the season, we will see what is going to happen, but that is not up to me. It is for the club to decide."

He added: "Being the highest goalscorer is actually not my main priority. The team comes first before my personal ambition.

"If I win it, that's fine but what I want to do is try to win trophies with my team.

“As long as the team is winning, it doesn't matter to me who gets the goals or whether I win top scorer or not."
