Manchester United have two major concerns over signing Victor Osimhen aside from his transfer fee and could be ready to pull the plug on a move for the Napoli striker.

Osimhen, 24, is on the radar of several top European clubs including United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain after an incredible season with Napoli.

The Nigeria international has scored 28 goals in all competitions, including an equaliser in Thursday's 1-1 draw with Udinese, to help the Naples club win their first Serie A title in 33 years.

United have been strongly linked with a move for Osimhen has they continue their search for a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club in November.

Erik ten Hag is keen to sign a new striker this summer, with Tottenham forward Harry Kane also on their summer transfer list.

While United are said to be 'big admirers' of Osimhen, Football Insider claim the Old Trafford club are now ready to pull out of the race to sign the striker.

It is believed that Napoli will demand in excess of £100m for Osimhen, with United unwilling to sanction that deal in the summer.

Man Utd's concerns over Osimhen revealed

Football Insider claim 'a source with knowledge of the situation' says United are 'concerned' about Osimhen's lack of Premier League experience.

It is also claimed that the striker's injury record 'has been scrutinised by recruitment chiefs' at Old Trafford, with Osimhen missing nine games with muscle problems this term.

Osimhen admitted earlier this season that he "dreams" of playing in the Premier League.

"I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world (Serie A) is an amazing feeling for me," he said.

"A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I'm in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.

"I'm working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it's a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well."

If United do indeed pull out of the race to sign Osimhem, it would leave Chelsea in pole position to sign the striker.

The Blues are in desperate need of a new front man, having scored just 34 goals in as many Premier League games this season.

However, a move for Osimhen could depend on Chelsea selling Romelu Lukaku, who is set to return from his loan spell at Inter Milan at the end of the season.
