Napoli have officially been confirmed as champions of Serie A after drawing against Udinese.

Last weekend, it was expected that Napoli would clinch their first title in 33 years in front of a packed-out Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

However, Salernitana ripped up the script by scoring a late equaliser to deny Napoli their crowning moment.

On Thursday night, Napoli arrived at the Dacia Arena knowing a point against Udinese would be enough to seal the title.

However, Luciano Spalletti’s side made the worst possible start as Udinese took a shock lead after Sandi Lovric scored with 13 minutes on the clock.

In the second half, Napoli came out looking a completely different side and they found their much-needed equaliser in the 52nd minute courtesy of Victor Osimhen.

The goal was enough as the match ended in a 1-1 draw, which confirmed Napoli as the champions of Italy. Fans gathered in the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to witness their team’s historic feat. You can watch the footage below.

Fans were quick to react on social media.

One said: “WOW, Napoli fans sure know how to celebrate, incredible scenes.”

Another tweeted: “Proper real football club.”

A third fan added: “Imagine being in Naples tonight, what a football club, what a fanbase.”

Someone else wrote: “Truly incredible scenes inside the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona tonight, congrats to Napoli. What an achievement."

Inside the Dacia Arena in Udine, the Napoli squad celebrated in brilliant style too as some fans made their way onto the pitch to share the moment with their heroes.

Napoli boss Spalletti was visibly emotional as he shared an embrace with his coaching staff after the final whistle.

The party will continue for the rest of the night in Naples as Napoli are finally back on top of Italian football after a long long wait.
