"So much power..." - Kylian Mbappe blown away by Liverpool transfer target Jeremy Doku

Kylian Mbappe has already given his seal of approval for Liverpool to sign Belgian star Jeremy Doku.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Rennes winger Doku as they look to find a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter (via Get French Football News) claims Liverpool have a 'strong interest' in the 21-year-old.

Doku, who joined Rennes from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2020, featured 29 times in Ligue 1 last season, scoring six goals.

Liverpool are said to be considering a move for the youngster, who still has two years left on his current deal in France.

He is not the only right winger linked with Liverpool in recent months. Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze and Fenerbahce wonderkid Arda Guler, who can also operate in central midfield, are also reportedly on Liverpool's radar.

Mbappe's praise for Liverpool target Doku

Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe, who has himself been linked with a move to Liverpool, is a huge fan of Doku.

Speaking back in 2021, Mbappe said he had been blown away by the pace of the former Anderlecht winger.

“Recently, I was speaking with my father about a player who impressed me because of his speed qualities, that is Doku, at Rennes," Mbappe said.

"In five years as a professional, I have never seen someone from a standing start demonstrate so much power."

Doku has made 90 appearances for Rennes since joining from in a €26m (£22m) move from Anderlecht.

He has 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions in that time and has already won 14 caps for Belgium.

Mbappe has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, both last summer and in the current window.

A shock report from Spanish outlet Marca claims the Merseyside club are ready to rival Real Madrid for Mbappe's signature this summer.

It is claimed the Liverpool could make a huge offer worth more than £250m for the French star, who is out of contract with PSG next summer.

It would be a major surprise to see Liverpool make such a move for Mbappe, given the club pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham earlier this something amid concerns over the potential cost of the midfielder.
