A highly-rated Liverpool and Chelsea target has revealed his transfer plans for this summer after naming his "dream" move.

Both teams have had poor campaigns with Liverpool struggling in the race for the top four and Chelsea sitting all the way down in 10th place.

Jurgen Klopp has plans to overhaul his squad so the Reds can get back to challenging for titles and the Blues are set to continue their spending spree this summer.

One player both clubs are targeting is highly-rated Croatian centre-back Joško Gvardiol who could leave German side RB Leipzig.

In an interview with UEFA.com the coveted defender spoke about his ambitions for the future and revealed he would assess his options when the season ends.

"Ambitions? Well, I don't really know. I'm here right now and we have a lot of work to do; there's the Bundesliga and we're also playing in the Champions League and competing in the [German Cup]." Gvardiol said.

"So, it's important for me to be as successful as possible this season, and then when the season is over, I can think about what and how to proceed."

Leipzig currently sit third in the Bundesliga and face Manchester City in the Champions League last 16 second leg on Tuesday.

Liverpool are his "dream club"

Liverpool have been woeful defensively at times this season and it's an area of the squad that Klopp needs to strengthen.

Signing Gvardiol would certainly do that and at just 20 years old he could be a long-term successor to the ageing Virgil van Dijk.

He would come with a hefty price tag with his release clause currently £110m. However, he's recently dealt a blow to Liverpool's rivals by naming the Reds as his "dream club".

"My dream club? That would definitely be Liverpool,” he told Croatian TV channel RTLDanas (via Eurosport).

“Since I was little, I watched a lot of their matches with my dad. We covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart".
