Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal have been informed they will have to pay somewhere between 25 and 30 million euros for Marco Asensio, who is a transfer target for both clubs.

Asensio’s contract at Real Madrid expires next summer in June 2023, so it is a possibility that the La Liga winners may look to offload the attacker this summer, in order to avoid losing him on a free next year.

Asensio, who scored against Juventus in the 2017 Champions League final, has struggled for gametime this season.

According to Spanish newspaper, AS, both Liverpool and Arsenal could look at making a potential move for the 26 year old this summer.

However, it looks as if Liverpool have already secured their business for the summer after bringing in Darwin Nunez, Fabian Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

In addition, Arsenal have recently welcomed Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Viera to the club, and have also been tracking Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans throughout the window.

This therefore makes it a strong likelihood that the two sides could wait to bring him in on a free next summer when his contract expires.

If the aforementioned Premier League clubs do want to pursue the Spaniard this summer, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, they will have to pay Real Madrid around €25m.

With Asensio yet to agree a new deal and out of contract next summer, it seems unlikely that any club will be looking to make a move in the current window.

It is also said that the Madridsta would prefer a move to a club of which he is guaranteed to be a starter.

With Liverpool already having Nunez, Firmino, Salah, Diaz and Jota in their ranks, it is unlikely he would be guaranteed a look-in every match.

The same can be said at Arsenal, who also boast immense depth in the final third with talents like Saka, Smith-Rowe, Nketiah, Odegaard, Martinelli and recent addition, Gabriel Jesus.
