Liverpool have been handed a major transfer boost in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola after PSG's chairman addressed the rumours.
Despite the fact that they're heading into their first season under a new manager with a completely different style of play, Liverpool have been relatively quiet in the ongoing summer transfer window.
With just over a week until their Premier League opening fixture away at Newcastle United, the Reds have made just two signings so far this summer.
The surprise signing of Spanish winger Victor Munoz, who joined after his €40million (£34.6m) release clause at Osasuna was triggered in June, and a loan deal for Barcelona's Ronald Araujo are Liverpool's only deals despite losing Andrew Robertson, Ibrahima Konate and Mohamed Salah as free agents.

However, it's long been reported that Liverpool are eager to make a statement before the window closes by making a blockbuster signing if Paris Saint-Germain forward Barcola.
The French international is reportedly unhappy with his current situation at PSG, having fallen behind in the pecking order in what is widely seen as the strongest attack in Europe, and is therefore keen to make the move to Anfield.
And after Barcola failed to make it onto the pitch once again during the Champions League winner's victory over Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi has issued a telling statement on the Liverpool transfer links.
“We’re working calmly, we don’t talk too much, we do. I can’t say whether he will leave or not," he told French broadcaster Canal Plus.
“Today, he is a PSG player. We’ll see!”
It is expected that Liverpool will submit an official bid for Barcola in the coming days after the PSG star made it clear that he will not be signing a new contract with the French club ahead of his current deal expiring in two years.

Although the exact figure is not known, Liverpool's pursuit of Barcola will certainly cost the club a figure well north of £100m, with various reports suggesting that PSG are looking for as much as £145m for the winger.
Such a high price tag has led to Liverpool considering other new wingers, including Barcola's PSG teammate Mbaye, who has also been strongly linked with an exit from the Parc des Princes.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are even considering signing both players, and have recently spoken with George Mendes, Mbaye’s new agent, but currently feel that PSG’s asking price is currently considered too expensive.
He claims that PSG believe that Liverpool signing both Barcola and Mbaye would cost the Reds almost €200m (£171m), a package deemed to be 'crazy' by Andoni Iraola's side.
However, Romano adds that it still remains Liverpool's plans to sign two wingers before the transfer window closes on September 1, especially if Cody Gakpo leaves to join Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
