Jurgen Klopp could unleash five academy stars in pre-season as Liverpool look to bounce back from a poor 2022-23 campaign.

Having embarked upon a lengthy, lucrative trip to Thailand and Singapore last summer, Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to visit the Far East once again this year.

Indeed, Liverpool’s squad will reconvene at the AXA Training Centre on July 8, with those involved in June international fixtures joining up with the rest of the squad three days later.

The player will then undergo testing and fitness work before heading to Germany for a training camp, where they will play at least one friendly.

Liverpool will then travel to Asia in late July to take on Leicester City and Bayern Munich in Singapore.

There will also be at least one pre-season fixture at Anfield in early August, although opponents for that game are yet to be confirmed.

It’s due to be a busy off-season, as the club looking to replace the outgoing James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.

And there is an opportunity for several youngsters to step up in their place.

Jurgen Klopp to unleash five academy graduates

Last month Klopp name-checked Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton, Luke Chambers, and Owen Beck as players that could make an impact in the coming season.

Bradley and Beck both featured at Bolton Wanderers in League One last term, while Morton made 46 appearances for Championship side Blackburn in all competitions, only for his season to end prematurely due to a broken ankle.

Meanwhile, Chambers signed a new Liverpool deal last month after impressing on loan at Scottish Premiership outfit Kilmarnock,

On the youngsters, Klopp said: "There are no plans for these boys I spoke about. We want to keep them. If we can give them the opportunity to play we will keep them, definitely, because they have the quality, definitely.

"The next generation after that, that's a different story maybe, we have to see how we do that.

"But Conor Bradley's coming back, was in the building yesterday, I saw him. I had the feeling he grew in the time he had at the other club! We have big hopes for him, to be honest.

"Luke Chambers, coming back [from Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock], other boys coming back. Owen Beck now already back a bit earlier.

"We have real talents. Tyler Morton, coming back, he's injured so we will see. But no real plans, the pre-season will start and then we'll make these kinds of decisions."

Ben Doak is another that could play a part in Liverpool's pre-season, having also been name-checked by Klopp.

The German said: “Ben Doak obviously, nice signs. He’s with us in training again.

“Special boy, really confident, has something that nobody else delivers really, this kind of dribbling, this straightforward bravery, technically really good, high speed.

“Super promising, but very young.”
