Jurgen Klopp Has Dropped Liverpool Return Hint Amid Crushing Palace Defeat

Liverpool suffered a sixth defeat in seven game on Wednesday, losing to Crystal Palace yet again and being dumped out of the Carabao Cup.

Jurgen Klopp has dropped a Liverpool return amid his former side's huge struggles under Arne Slot.

The big-spending Premier League champions suffered a sixth defeat in seven in all competitions on Wednesday night at Anfield, losing to Crystal Palace for the third time this season.

A brace from Ismaila Sarr and a strike from Jeremy Pina piled more misery on Arne Slot, dumping them out of the Carabao Cup at the fourth round.

Slot made a number of changes and handed debuts to Freddie Woodman and Kieran Morrison, while 18-year-old substitute Amara Nallo had a disastrous cameo which saw him sent off for the second consecutive game for the Reds after a red card against PSV last season.

In their last seven outings, Liverpool's only win was a 5-1 trouncing of Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League and life doesn't get any easier with games against Aston Villa and Real Madrid coming up.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are "100 percent convinced that Arne Slot is the best manager to handle this situation" and have full trust in the man who delivered the title last season.

The Italian journalist added that there is "very good communication on a daily basis" between slot and Liverpool's top brass.

Klopp's Liverpool hint

Some supporters, meanwhile, have called for the club to bring back beloved manager Jurgen Klopp, who delivered Liverpool's sixth European crown and first league title for 30 years.

Klopp, who had a win percentage of 60.9% before "running out of energy" and leaving in 2024, recently appeared on the Diary of a CEO podcast with Steven Bartlett and was asked whether he would go back to manage Liverpool and did not rule it out.

"I said I will never coach a different team in England," Klopp replied.

"That means that if it's Liverpool, yeah. Theoretically. I don't even know exactly [what it would take it to return]. I love what I'm doing right now.

"I don't miss coaching. I don't. I do coach, but different. Not players. I don't miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half, three hours. I don't miss going to a press conference three times a week. Having 10, 12 injuries a week. Who misses that? I don't.

"I don't miss being in the dressing room, like in the sense that I didn't have it often. I coached 1,080-something games, so I was in the dressing room very often.

"I like doing what I'm doing right now. And in my mind, only if I'm focused 100 per cent on it, I can do it really good."

If Klopp was to return to Liverpool, he would follow in the footsteps of Kenny Dalglish, who had two spells in charge of the Reds - his second beginning in 2011 and ending 2012.

The German is currently working as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull and enjoying a less taxing role which does not requite day-to-day-work.

Liverpool return to action on Saturday when they host Villa in an 8pm kick-off at Anfield, before taking on 15-time European champions Real on Tuesday.

They then travel to Manchester City for a tasty clash on 9 November.
