Real Madrid star Rodrygo posted a cryptic message on social media amid links with a move to Liverpool and Arsenal – and fans were quick to offer their thoughts.

Rodrygo, 24, has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid for some time after falling out of favour with then-head coach Carlo Ancelotti during the latter part of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Brazil international, who is contracted to Real until 2028, was once dubbed the most talented player at the club by teammate Jude Bellingham, but with the arrival of players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and a new system under new boss Xabi Alonso, his days at the Santiago Bernabeu appear to be numbered.

The 24-year-old has been linked with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool for some time, while Spurs also emerged as a potential destination.

The Guardian reports that Rodrygo will be allowed to leave this summer, while ESPN claims that he could cost between €80-100 million (£69-87 million).

On Sunday (August 3), the Brazilian posted several photographs to his Instagram captioned: “Holidays completed. Clear mind and many missions ahead!”

And fans think this was a ‘cryptic message’ ahead of the new season.

One fan said: “Rodrygo keeps putting himself in the spotlight, almost screaming ‘I’m here’. A huge talent.”

Another added: “I hope this mission does not include finding a new club.”

While a third claimed: “Many missions? This guy is coming to pack his bags isn’t he? Lock him at Valdebebas. Don’t allow him to leave."

ESPN also claims that “the club maintains that Rodrygo's official position is to stay at Real Madrid and the player has not conveyed any other message”, despite previous rumours that he was unsettled.

And while several clubs have been linked with the player, no official approach has been made at this time.

Jose Mourinho keen on Rodrygo

Aside from the reports of interest from Premier League clubs, AS claims that Fenerbahçe boss Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the winger to Istanbul.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese is also keen on Rodrygo’s fellow Real Madrid stars David Alaba and Brahim Diaz as he looks to win his first trophy in Turkey this season.

Mourinho has already welcomed Sofyan Amrabat, Archie Brown, Milan Skriniar, Nelson Semedo, Tarik Cetin and Jhon Duran to the club this summer.
