Jose Mourinho did not hold back with his take on Jhon Duran after the former Aston Villa man missed the start of pre-season training at his new club, Fenerbahce.
Duran, 21, joined Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on a season-long loan from Al Nassr earlier this month. This came just six months after leaving Aston Villa for the Saudi club in a deal worth £71m.
And despite his on-pitch talent, there have been several question marks regarding the Colombian forward’s temperament and attitude at times.
In December 2024, he was charged with improper contact by the Football Association (FA) for his reaction to being sent off for a challenge on Fabian Schar during Villa’s 3-0 Boxing Day defeat by Newcastle United.

Duran received a £15,000 fine and was handed a three-match ban.
Now, he has landed himself in hot water at his new club before he has even kicked a ball in a competitive match.
As reported by Spanish outlet MARCA, Duran has already angered his new head coach, Mourinho.
The report claims that the 21-year-old striker was absent from the start of Fenerbahce’s pre-season camp in Portugal.

And Mourinho did not hold back with his take on Duran in a press conference.
Mourinho said: "It's disrespectful. There are clear rules here, and anyone who doesn't follow them will face consequences. We'll talk to him when he shows up, if he does."
The Istanbul giants will get their pre-season schedule underway with a friendly against Portuguese side Portimonense at Estadio Municipal de Albufeira on Thursday.

Mourinho will be hoping to secure his first trophy at the Turkish side this term, having finished second behind city rivals Galatasaray during the 2024/25 campaign.
Several players have already been recruited by Mourinho this summer, with Birmingham-born defender Archie Brown arriving from Belgian side Gent.
Former Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has also made his loan deal permanent. Goalkeeper Tarik Cetin joined Mourinho’s side on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Çaykur Rizespor.
Fenerbahce will face Uniao Leiria, Al Ittihad, Benfica and Lazio in pre-season friendlies in July before they get their Super Lig campaign started with a home match against Alanyaspor on August 9.
