Real Madrid reportedly took an extraordinary decision ahead of players arriving for training on Friday morning following the incident between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.
Both players were involved in an altercation at the club's training ground on Thursday.
Valverde slipped and fell before cutting his head on a table, which required him to be transported to hospital. The injury was not caused by Tchouameni.
Real Madrid confirmed that the Uruguay midfielder had suffered a cranioencephalic trauma - a type of traumatic brain injury - and had been told to rest for between 10 to 14 days.

They have opened disciplinary proceedings against both players, with an investigation to follow.
In a lengthy statement posted to Instagram on Thursday night, Valverde apologised to supporters but described the incident with Tchouameni as a 'disagreement'.
He claims that he did not hit Tchouameni, nor was he hit himself.

Real are said to have appointed an 'instructor' to oversee the disciplinary proceedings, with club president Florentino Perez being kept aware of developments.
But El Pais report that Real are only planning to fine both players and that no suspensions will be handed out.
It was claimed by various outlets on Thursday that, following the altercation, Real players held an 'emergency crisis meeting' which was attended by club CEO Jose Angel Sanchez.
Now, Marca report that Sanchez, who has worked at Real since 2000 under the presidencies of Perez and Ramon Calderon, once again attended training on Friday morning.
It is noted that chief scout Juni Calafat, who plays a significant role behind the scenes, also made an appearance at training.
It is unclear as to what their appearances specifically mean for the players on Friday, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Valverde and Tchouameni have already spoken personally with Perez.
"This is involving everyone in this emergency situation at Real Madrid," Romano said on his YouTube channel.

"It's involving the management, it's involving the staff, it's involving the players, it's involving the manager. But it's also involving the president.
"Obviously, it's unacceptable for Real Madrid, for the president, for all the people who represent Real Madrid, to have these sorts of situations.
"Florentino Perez, according to my own information, already spoke to them and people at Real Madrid. They are deciding on disciplinary measures. There will be measures."
