Federico Valverde has issued a statement after he required medical treatment following an altercation with team-mate Aurelien Tchouameni at Real Madrid's training ground.
Valverde and Tchouameni were involved in an incident in the dressing room at the end of training on Thursday.
Spanish media reported on Wednesday that the pair had a row during Wednesday's session, with Marca claiming that the second incident on Thursday was 'much more serious'.
During that particular altercation, Uruguay midfielder Valverde fell to the floor and cut his head on a table, which required immediate medical treatment. It was reported that Tchouameni did not cause the injury.

Real Madrid subsequently confirmed that Valverde has suffered cranioencephalic trauma, a type of brain injury, and must rest for between 10 to 14 days before returning to first-team action.
A source told ESPN that the row had started after a practice match in training where there were 'some heavy challenges', and the pair had exchanged insults.

It is claimed that an 'emergency crisis meeting' was held in the dressing room, with club CEO Jose Angel Sanchez present, while Fabrizio Romano reports that president Florentino Perez was informed and spoke with both Valverde and Tchouameni.
Valverde, who occasionally captains Real, has now issued his first official statement on the incident.
He states that the first incident was indeed 'as a result of a play during training, where the fatigue from competition and frustration make everything bigger than it is'.
But while that incident was 'resolved among ourselves without being public', Valverde accused 'someone behind all this' - who is not named -of having 'rushed to tell the story'.
He also denied having hit Tchouameni, or that he was hit himself.
"Today, we had another disagreement," he wrote on Instagram. "During the argument I accidentally hit a table, causing myself a small cut on my forehead that required a routine visit to the hospital.

"At no point has my teammate hit me, nor have I hit him, although I understand that for you it may have been easier to believe that we beat each other up or that it was intentional, but that did not happen.
"I feel that my anger about the situation, my frustration at seeing that some of us are reaching the end of the season running on our last bit of energy, breaking ourselves mentally, led me to the point of arguing with a team-mate.
"I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry because the situation hurts me, the moment we are going through hurts me. Madrid is one of the most important things in my life and I can't stay indifferent.
"Any clashes we may have on the pitch stop existing once we step off it, and if I have to defend him inside a stadium, I'll be the first to do so.
"I wasn't going to speak until the end of the season. We were eliminated from the Champions League and I kept my anger and resentment to myself.
"That's why it pains and saddens me the most to go through this situation, which prevents me from playing the next match due to medical decisions, because I have always gone until the end, to the very last consequences, and it hurts me more than anyone not to be able to do so. I am at the club's and my team-mates' disposal to co-operate with any decision they consider necessary."
