Real Madrid have released a statement regarding the fight between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni which resulted in the Uruguayan being hospitalised.
It has been a difficult week for Los Blancos, as several reports have come out of the club suggesting serious tension within the dressing room.
Manager Alvaro Arbeloa has seemingly lost control of his side, as it was reported six players are refusing to speak to him, which will not have helped in their preparation for El Clasico this weekend.
A defeat to Barcelona would see the Catalan side lift La Liga and leave Los Blancos trophyless this campaign, and this may help explain some of the frustration around the club.

In the week’s build-up to this clash at Camp Nou, the first report of tension within the club came as it had been reported there was also an altercation between Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras, in which the Spanish defender released a statement about the incident.
However, this clash would be nothing compared to the incident between Valverde and Tchouameni, which has resulted in Real Madrid having to make a public statement.
It read: “Real Madrid CF announces that, following the events that took place this morning in the first team training session, it has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.

“The club will announce the resolutions of both cases in due course, once the corresponding internal procedures have been completed.”
Meanwhile, the club have also provided an update on the injury sustained by Valverde after his fight with Tchouameni, which left him in hospital.
Real Madrid have confirmed that he is in good condition after being assessed by medical professionals and that he will be at home resting for the next two weeks.
The club statement said: “After the tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a cranioencephalic trauma.
“Valverde is at home in good condition and will need to rest for 10 to 14 days, as indicated by medical protocols for this diagnosis.”
Cranioencephalic trauma, or traumatic brain injury, is a physical injury to the brain resulting from a sudden, external force, such as a fall, car accident, or assault.
It causes immediate and sometimes secondary damage, ranging from mild concussions to severe damage or coma; however, thankfully, it appears from Real Madrid’s statement that Valverde appears to be in a good condition following medical tests.
