American fans have had their say on Jude Bellingham after the Real Madrid star criticised the pitches the Club World Cup.
On Sunday evening, Real Madrid claimed their first win at the Club World Cup after beating Mexican side Pachuca 3-1 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Having scored the opener for his side shortly after the half hour mark, Real Madrid star Bellingham was named the Superior Player of the Match and spoke with the media post-match.

But, despite the impressive performance for his team, who now look set to progress to the round of 16, Bellingham wasn't exactly positive when discussing the match, as he criticised the quality of the pitches used for the tournament.
And now, American fans have responded to Bellingham's comments, giving their say on his controversial view about the facilities across the country.

Ahead of the World Cup which is set to be hosted across North America next year, Bellingham pointed out that the quality of the pitches need to be improved as it could impact the quality of the match, while increasing the chances of injury.

He said: "The pitches aren’t great at all. It holds the ball up. The ball barely bounces. It’s tough on the knees as well. Hopefully it’s something that someone will look at, going into next year.
"It’s important we protect the players as well as giving the fans a great spectacle and giving them great games like today."
Unsurprisingly, the comments were not met with praise from many fans, with one reacting to the clip by noting: "I get it, but at the same time these guys need to just accept it. He’s at Real Madrid, does he expect the same quality everywhere he goes? God he’s unlikeable."
While another added: "Here we go.. Bellingham doesn’t get his way over something & teams aren’t just bowing down to Madrid.. so he has to find something to complain about.. Madrid is becoming one of the most unlikable teams to watch."

However, not all fans felt that Bellingham's comments were out of line, as some took the comments to defend his point of view and echo their concerns ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
One fan suggested that the issue could be to do with the turf pitch that the grass sits on top of, writing: "We’ve known this would be an issue for years, and FIFA chose these venues anyway and they have no better solution than what they are doing this summer.
"This is as good as it will get in the venues where the grass is laid over turf."

While a reporter from last year's Copa America claimed: "Same issue last year in Copa America when I asked players at NRG Stadium."
