Arsenal fans unhappy they're 'bailing out' Chelsea with Kai Havertz interest

Chelsea have to sell players this summer and Arsenal's interest in Havertz could certainly help them out of an issue.

Arsenal fans are not happy that the club are interested in signing Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, and it's not because of his ability specifically.

There's no doubt that Arsenal have just finished a season where they defied all expectations, even if it ultimately ended in failure.

No one would expected to get close to Manchester City before the start of the season and most didn't even expect them to finish in the top four.

With a shift in expectations Mikel Arteta will be hoping that he can keep them in the upper echelons of the Premier League and maybe even in a title race.

If they are to challenge again there's no doubt that Arteta will need to add to his squad, with Declan Rice's arrival expected to happen soon.

That's unlikely likely to be the only addition in the transfer window and some fans had themselves believing that Kylian Mbappe belongs at the Emirates Stadium.

Whilst that move seems unlikely Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Gunners are very interested in signing Chelsea forward Havertz.

Romano claims that the Blues wanted £75 million for the forward but their London rivals have rejected that outright, leading to a potential lowering of the asking price.

Real Madrid were also said to be interested but aren't willing to go up to the £50 million mark for the former Bayer Leverkusen star.

The 24-year-old is said to be open to a move across London though so Arsenal might be able to get their man, but that's not pleasing fans.

You might think it would be his mere seven goals in 35 Premier League games last season that's putting them off but it seems it's actually Chelsea's financial situation.

There's little doubt the Blues need to offload players having spent £600 million in the past year and fans of Arsenal don't want their team to help out.

"Arsenal and the Saudi clubs are going to bail out Chelsea’s money issues," said one fan.

"For once I want football teams to unite and leave all the players at Chelsea. If anything make minimal bids but everyone's willing to spend big on their players," a second dramatically added.

Worried about the impact on other transfer targets, another fans exclaimed: "Potentially refunding Chelsea so the can get Caicedo over us."

A fourth replied: "This Arsenal obsession with Chelsea players is killing me."

"Petition to stop signing Chelsea players," a fifth commented in a similar vein.

Arsenal's most recent acquisition from Stamford Bridge was to sign Jorginho last January and things didn't exactly work out, with fans from his former club thanking him after Arteta's side had lost the title race.
