Divock Origi has done it again. The ever-reliable Belgian scored another goal in Sunday's Merseyside Derby – and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp showed his appreciation for the 'world-class' striker at full-time.

The 27-year-old forward, who has scored six goals against the Toffees in all competitions for Liverpool since his move from Lille in 2014, came on as a second-half substitute before finding the back of the net with 85 minutes played.

"I think Divock Origi does not come on if it's not against Everton," said Sky commentator and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher after he made it 2-0. You can see his goal below.

After the full-time whistle, Jurgen Klopp gave Origi, who is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season, one of the biggest 'Klopp hugs' we've seen in some time as he celebrated a crucial three points in the Premier League title race.

And in his post-match interview with Sky, the Liverpool manager was full of praise for the "world-class" Origi – a player he has tipped to "explode" at his next club.

“We will never a player like him because if he leaves, he will explode wherever he goes," Klopp beamed. "He is a world class striker, he is a legend and will stay a legend forever.

“He doesn’t always make the squad which is ridiculous, but he is there when we need him every time. He was involved in both games.”

Klopp admitted his side didn't turn up in the opening 45 minutes but praised their "cool and calm" attitude in the second half.

“Thank God the game has two halves," he told BBC. "We didn’t play particularly well in the first half. They made it uncomfortable but we didn’t get in behind the last line. We didn’t have enough movement

“We weren’t quick enough. We passed the ball into the area they had nine players. Second half we were much more direct and caused them much more problems. The goals were wonderful.

“We expected it [Everton’s tactics] but we didn’t react well. It’s difficult. Each ball Jordan Pickford has he takes five minutes so we couldn’t gain rhythm which you need to break down a low block. We expected them to do it."

He added: “The amount of wins we’ve had in recent months is insane. You have to work. The boys did that again. I’m really happy.

“We stayed really cool and calm. The changes helped, fresh players, different formation. It made it difficult for the opposition.

“We won 2-0, it’s absolutely fine.”
