Harry Kane posts leaving message to Spurs fans after joining Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has sent a goodbye message to Spurs after his Bayern Munich move was confirmed.

Harry Kane has posted an emotional goodbye message to Spurs fans after signing for Bayern Munich.

Kane spent his entire career at Spurs, coming through the ranks as a youngster and making his debut in 2011.

But after various loan spells across the pyramid, he established himself as the main man under Mauricio Pochettino in the 2014/15 campaign and hit 21 goals in 34 games in the Premier League.

He was dubbed a "one season wonder" by manager but Kane has sustained that level throughout his time at Spurs, where he leaves as the club's record goalscorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.

Three-time Golden Boot winner Kane departs the Premier League just 47 goals behind record scorer Alan Shearer's tally of 250.

The England skipper has joined Bayern in pursuit of major trophies but on Saturday morning, just before the move was officially confirmed, Kane uploaded a two-minute video to thank Spurs and the fans who sang his name.

The caption read: "Hard to put into words how to say goodbye to a club and fans who have done so much for me in my career. You will always be in my heart. Thank you Tottenham, thank you Tottenham fans."

Kane has penned a deal until 2027 and will wear the No.9 shirt for the Bundesliga champions.

The 30-year-old could make his debut in the DFL Supercup against RB Leipzig on Saturday evening, having been named in the squad.

After some issues that delayed proceedings, Kane flew out to Germany for his medical and contract signing on Friday before the official announcement arrived early on Saturday morning.

With one year remaining on his contract, Spurs finally accepted a bid from Bayern and are believed to be receiving around £100 million for their talisman.

"I'm very happy to be a part of FC Bayern now," Kane told Bayern's official website after signing on the dotted line.

"Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I've always said that I want to compete and prove myself at the highest level during my career.

"This club is defined by its winning mentality - it feels very good to be here."
