Rob McElhenney has teamed up with fellow Hollywood actor Chris Pratt to deliver a one-of-a-kind birthday message for best mate Ryan Reynolds.

In short, the Wrexham co-owners have been known to send each other elaborate birthday messages via social media.

Back in April, Reynolds composed a Broadway-esque song to explain how McElhenney's name is pronounced. He would then write: "Would be a real shame if this became a Wrexham AFC Racecourse chant.”

Four months later and McElhenney has delivered his own special message to celebrate Reynolds' 47th birthday,

Featuring Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World actor Chris Pratt, the pair announced a gift located in the heart of Wrexham – a picturesque Memorial Park named after Reynolds.

The video begins: “Introducing the Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park, in Wrexham, Wales, located on the site of the old Wrexham Hippodrome.

“This park will be beautiful; will have open; green spaces; pop-up restaurants; we’ll have movie screens; there will be actual green lanterns; benches for old guys to swing on; a statue that may or may not look like Ryan! Happy birthday, Ryan!”

The official 'Parks & Wrex' website has explained the wholesome reasoning behind their latest project.

"This community space located in the heart of Wrexham will be a place for the public to gather, grow, and play," it reads. "Working in close partnership with Wrexham County Borough Council, we’re beautifying the park in the coming months to be a reflection of the spirit of Wrexham and Wales.

"And we’re renaming it. Probably something Welsh, not Canadian."

The appropriately-named Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial will be located on Henblas Street. So why have they decided to built a park?

"In a word: community," the website says. "Public outdoor spaces like parks foster cultural, communal, and creative activities."

To support the park, you can also purchase a variety of items, including t-shirts and bumper stickers, on the online store. All net proceeds will be used for the development of the park space and local community.
