Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has issued a heartfelt message to Paul Mullin after he completed his transfer away from the club.

Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic from Wrexham on loan for the 2025/26 season.

He departs the Welsh outfit despite being the club's leading man during the first two promotions under the ownership of Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The 30-year-old forward signed for Wrexham from Cambridge United in the summer of 2021 and scored 110 goals across all competitions, helping them win promotion from the National League to the Championship in successive seasons.

However, he was on the sidelines for much of last season, starting nine league games - scoring just three league goals.

Mullin won't be a part of Phil Parkinson's Wrexham squad for their Championship campaign next season as he will ply his trade for Wigan in League One.

"I’d like to wish Paul all the best for his loan move," said Parkinson.

"It’s a good opportunity for him to get back to playing regular first-team football and I’m sure he’s going to be a great signing for Wigan Athletic."

On his loan switch to Wigan, Mullin said: "I’m excited for the next part of my story. The Gaffer has outlined his plan for the season, and I’m hoping to take his trust into the season and make it a really successful one.

"As a player, I give absolutely everything and work as hard as I can.

"I’ve scored a lot of goals over the last few years, but more than anything, I give my absolute all for the Club that I’m playing for, and I’m going to do that again with Wigan."

Reynolds has also had his say on Mullin departing the Racecourse Ground.

He took to Instagram to post a compilation of Mullin in action for Wrexham, with his song playing in the background, accompanied with the caption: "I can't imagine seeing Mulls on loan and in another kit. We wouldn't be where we are without his heart, skill and work ethic. We love you, Paul Mullin."
