A club who is 'in talks' to sign Wrexham star Paul Mullin has already signed a direct rival for his position.
Wrexham plan to recruit new players this summer ahead of their Championship campaign next season.
They are backed by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, with several big-name players linked with a move to the Racecourse Ground.
On Monday, Wrexham completed their first signing of the summer.
As well as incomings, Wrexham are also set to trim their squad.
Mullin, who joined the club in July 2021, has been the subject of intense transfer speculation as his future appears to lie away from the Welsh outfit.
He's attracting plenty of suitors, including Wigan Athletic who are thought to be weighing up a move for the 30-year-old forward.

Wigan, however, have added a forward to their ranks despite reports linking them with Mullin.
The League One side have snapped up Christian Saydee from Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee.
Saydee has signed a three-year deal with the Latics.
He made 73 appearances for Pompey and helped them win promotion to the Championship in 2024.
The 23-year-old started just 10 league games last season, scoring two league goals.

"I spoke to the Gaffer, and he emphasised how I could fit into the squad. With the Gaffer being who he is, it will be a massive help for me, as I will learn a lot from him.
"I think with the staff, players, and supporters we have - if everyone works hard together - we can do something very good. I’m very excited to meet everyone, and I just want to get started now!"
It remains to be seen whether Wigan, who finished 15th last season, will sign another forward, having acquired Saydee.
But Ryan Lowe will want strength in depth ahead of a potential promotion charge next season so they could still go after Mullin.
