Hamza Igamine sent more than 45,000 fans into delirium after he scored for Rangers in their Europa League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Earlier this week, Rangers captain James Tavernier hoped that the Gers supporters would make it as "hard as possible' for Spurs on their visit to Ibrox.

“I am expecting Ibrox to be jumping," he said ahead of kick-off. "It is down to us to get the crowd right behind us from the start. European nights are always the best at Ibrox,"

Tavernier predicted a "great atmosphere" at the stadium, adding: "Everyone will be really looking forward to it and trying to make it as hard as possible for Tottenham."

Well, a few hours later and they certainly made things difficult for the Premier League outfit, who have won their only two previous meetings with Rangers.

In fact, with 46 minutes on the clock, Philippe Clement's side took a deserved lead through Moroccan forward Hamza Igamine, who converted past Fraser Forster following a perfectly-weighted through ball from Tavernier.

It was a moment that will live long in the memory of every Rangers supporter. Just listen to the noise when Igamine found the back of the net.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the scenes inside Ibrox.

One fan wrote: "Best atmosphere in the UK, no place has limbs like Ibrox," while another commented: "The noise at Ibrox on European nights is something else."

A third said: "The shaking camera a testament to the joy Rangers fans are taking in ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou's struggles. Spite above everything."

A fourth wrote: "Getting dunked on at the Ibrox will leave you fighting tears, that angle of fans celebrating plus the camera shaking is otherworldly," and a fifth added: "Ibrox baby, it’s just different."

Rangers have impressed in this season's Europa League, securing three victories over Malmo, FCSB and Nice in the competition so far.

Speaking ahead of Thursday's game against Spurs, Gers boss Philippe Clement said: “It is a big challenge but that is what we like, that is what we love and that is what you want here also."

He added: “We have already in this past year had a few really good opponents here on European nights and this club has a big history of that, so for the players these are very challenging and really nice evenings that they can write history in that way. That's why players want to play for Rangers also.”
