The Winter Olympics has hit headlines for many reasons, the latest being the shortage of condoms at the athletes base.
As is tradition, condoms were once again handed out at the Games in Milan-Cortina but nowhere as many as what was given at the showpiece in Paris in 2024.
An anonymous athlete told Italian newspaper La Stampa that they "ran out in three days" and officials made a promise that "more will arrive".
In response, IOC spokesperson Mark Adams said that valentine's day was in "full swing" at the village where 2,800 athletes were based.
He added: "It is rule 62 of the Olympic Charter that we have to have a condoms story. Faster, higher, stronger, together."
Condoms have been handed out at the Olympics to promote safe sex amongst athletes since 1988 and many have taken advantage of the free protection.

Team GB put forward a team in the men's football competition, with Stuart Pearce managing and Ryan Giggs named captain.
The side, which also included Craig Bellamy, Aaron Ramsey, Danny Rose and Tom Cleverley, got to the quarter-finals but was eliminated on penalties by South Korea in Cardiff.
Richards wasn't too down about the disappointment as he had a great team in the Olympic village, calling it "the party of all parties" with "all sorts of different specimens".
The two-time Premier League winner shared a room with Daniel Sturridge for his three-night stay.
In an in-depth ESPN article, former US goalkeeper Hope Solo claimed that she saw people having sex "right out in the open" - including "on the grass" and "between buildings".
She also said there was a five-word phrase that athletes used get lucky. Five-time Olympian Tony Azevedo claimed that the sexual exploits came about as athletes met "like-minded people", while Susen Tiedtke, a long jumper who competed at two events for Germany, put it down to athletes wanting to "live out their energy".
Richards had plenty of fun at the 2012 Olympics. Image: Getty A prime Richards certainly did that and reminisced that he was "on absolute fire" throughout.
"We were there for three nights, we went training, come back to the village, them three nights we were up to 4am," he said on the Rest is Football podcast.
"You have different campuses, Team GB in one block, Brazil, France, all these countries, and there's a massive big room full of condoms!
"It was like what, obviously promoting safe sex, and honest to god, I was on fire. I was on absolute fire, honestly. I was a little slimmer, a bit more ripped, bit more lean, it was summer time, walking around with my top off.
"There was multiple gold medals. one of the best times of my life, it was incredible."
In a different episode of the podcast, Richards, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer discussed injuries suffered in their playing careers.
The former Aston Villa captain proceed to reveal he pulled his hamstring while having sex.
"Basically, obviously, I can’t go into detail," he explained.
"Basically, I was yes, I was ‘having fun’ and as I was ‘having fun’, I slipped off the bed and stretched my leg and did my hamstring.
“So I’ve rolled over, but I was totally fine in training. So when I go back to training and the physio’s have asked me what have I done and I just said ‘I’ve just got some pain down my back, I felt it in the game but I didn’t really want to say anything'. They don’t know the truth until now.”
