Brentford star Neal Maupay was booked whilst warming up on the touchline against Chelsea.

On Saturday afternoon, Brentford travelled to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in a London derby.

Heading into the match, the visitors knew a victory would be enough for them to overtake Chelsea in the Premier League table.

During the first half, Mauricio Pochettino’s men were dominant from start to finish but failed to break through the stubborn Brentford defence.

In the second half, after a free-kick was awarded to Chelsea by referee Simon Hooper, a yellow card was shown to Maupay.

Despite not being on the pitch, the Frenchman was shown a yellow card after he touched the ball whilst doing his warm up routine. You can watch the incident below.

Shortly after that incident, Brentford stunned Stamford Bridge into silence after Ethan Pinnock scored in the 58th minute.

With 76 minutes on the clock, Brentford boss Thomas Frank subbed on Maupay, who will be walking a fine line for the rest of the match after his needless booking.

In the end, Brentford managed to make it 2-0 right at the death after Bryan Mbeumo tapped into an empty net on the back of Robert Sanchez going up for a late corner.

Prior to their match against Brentford, Chelsea have somewhat built up a bit of momentum after winning against Fulham and Burnley before drawing 2-2 with Arsenal last weekend.

However, it was a poor performance from the men in Blue on Saturday afternoon as Pochettino’s side dropped to 11th place in the Premier League table.

Chelsea could dropped further down the table if results go against them for the rest of the weekend.
