Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is willing to take a significant pay cut in order to secure his 'dream' transfer this summer, according to reports.

The 27-year-old, who joined Aston Villa in February in a loan deal that included a £40 million option-to-buy clause, is yet to announce his next move, although he is expected to leave Old Trafford in the coming months.

Rashford and his representatives do not believe Ruben Amorim wants to restore the player to his squad at United, according to BBC Sport, as a number of clubs from around Europe continue to be linked.

Champions League finalists Inter Milan have added Rashford to their shortlist this summer, report The Sun, who claim club chiefs believe he could be 'a key acquisition' and would bring an excitement to those in their fan base.

Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be keen, but the club that continue to crop up in conversation is Barcelona. In fact, Sporting director Deco was recently asked about a potential move for Rashford – and he didn't exactly say no to the idea.

“We have been focusing on renewing contracts, after that, we'll discuss players to come," Deco told BBC Sport. "Of course, these two players [Rashford and Luis Diaz], like you mentioned, they are good but have contracts in their clubs, so we won't speak because it's not fair.

"But when you decide to go to the market, for sure, we find some names. In my opinion, we don't need to bring many players. When I speak with the agents of the players, everyone wants to come or stay."

He added: “So this is important. The image of the club is still good. We are proud because Barcelona is still such a big club, and the way we are playing football makes players want to come."

Such is his willingness to join the project at Barca, Rashford is prepared to take a significant wage cut to accommodate the club's financial situation, according to Marca. The forward currently takes home around £350,000 a week.

"The player's salary at Manchester United is very high," the report says. "He earns around 18 million euros a year. f he joins Barcelona, it would be for much less money."

Rashford, who made 17 appearances across all competitions for Aston Villa last season, including 10 Premier League games, scored four goals during his productive loan spell at Villa Park.

Last month, the player opened up on his spell. "Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what has (injury aside) been an incredible few months for me," he wrote on social media.

"It is a really special club and I appreciated the way Villa fans embraced me with open arms from 1st minute on the pitch.

"Manager, team, and coaching staff have all been brilliant. I know it is a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League place which everyone worked so hard all season for but I know this club and team will come back stronger."
