Ruben Amorim has told three AC Milan players they can leave the club this summer, according to reports, with Premier League clubs circling.

After a disastrous 14-month tenure, Amorim was sacked by Manchester United in January, departing Old Trafford when his side were in sixth position - level on points with Chelsea.

The Portuguese recorded the lowest win rate of any Man United manager in Premier League history (31.9%), with his stock dropping dramatically during his time at the club.

But when many felt he would struggle to land another high-profile job, he was hired as AC Milan's new manager in June, five months after being sacked by the Red Devils.

Amorim penned a three-year contract with the Rossoneri, replacing Massimiliano Allegri, who was relieved of his duties after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The 41-year-old is now aiming to do what his predecessor couldn't, and a strong transfer window holds the key for him to achieve success at the San Siro.

Milan have signed three players so far this summer, most notably the eye-catching £60million capture of Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain.

But to invest further in his bloated squad, it appears Amorim has to part ways with some of his first-team stars, making three of them available.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana and Christopher Nkunku have all been placed on the transfer list, with the Portuguese continuing his rebuild.

Tomori and Fofana were unused substitutes during AC Milan's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on August 8, arguably signalling his stance on the pair, while Nkunku came on at half-time for Rafael Leao against his former club and has a whopping £34m price tag if widespread reports are to be believed.

Encouragingly for Amorim, two of the players on that list have already attracted Premier League clubs this summer.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Liverpool, Newcastle United and Coventry City have all shown an interest in Tomori.

The 28-year-old, who joined AC Milan in a £35m transfer from Chelsea in 2021, is unfavoured by Amorim because he doesn't possess the ball-playing attributes he wants in a defender.

Tomori's contract at the San Siro expires in June 2027, and it appears the Serie A giants would rather cash in on him now than lose him on a free transfer next summer.

Get Football News Italy believes the Milan hierarchy want around €15m (£12.8mi) for the Englishman, and he isn't the only one being courted for a move to England's top flight.

Fofana is drawing admiration from Premier League duo Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace ahead as both clubs aim to bolster their engine room.

Capped 25 times by France, the aggressive, all-action midfielder is available for €15m (£13m), according to Gazzetta dello Sport, making him a cost-effective option for either team.

Like Tomori, Fofana is also in a precarious position with his contract, as his current deal expires in June 2028. So, whilst a sale isn't as pressing as his teammate's, the 27-year-old knows opportunities to impress will be limited.

Amorim has Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci and Yunus Musah alongside Fofana, all competing for two spots.
