Marcus Rashford breaks his silence after Man Utd brutally hand number 10 shirt to Matheus Cunha

Marcus Rashford has seen his Manchester United squad number taken away.

Marcus Rashford has posted for the first time after his Manchester United squad number was brutally taken off him for new boy Matheus Cunha.

So far this summer, United have completed the signings of Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and also Diego Leon, who has joined the Old Trafford club from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno.

Aside from the above-mentioned pair, Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has been heavily linked with a move to United.

In terms of outgoings, the likes of Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have all been linked with an exit.

Daily Mail reporter Nathan Salt wrote on social media: "Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho all want to leave the club.

"Those 5 players have been told their required return date to pre-season is later in July so they can try and seal an exit from the club. Failure to find a new club, they will be welcomed back at Carrington."

To add to Rashford's woes, it has been reported that United have already decided to hand his number 10 shirt to new signing Cunha.

According to Ben Jacobs, who wrote: "Matheus Cunha requested the No.10 shirt. He is the kind of player who wants to be a protagonist and shoulder the pressure of wearing the number.

"However, Cunha respectful of the fact that when he joined #MUFC it was still Marcus Rashford shirt. As discussions, United informed Rashford in advance Cunha was going to be given No.10. Rashford understanding, as he is exploring a move away. Exit viewed as suiting all parties. Rashford's preference remains Barcelona."

On Saturday, Rashford posted on social media for the first time since his shirt number was taken off him.

The 27-year-old posted a picture of himself in the gym, with a caption that read: "#NewProfilePic".

During the second half of the 24/25 season, Rashford managed four goals and six assists after joining Aston Villa on loan.

However, Villa have since decided not to trigger a £40 million option to sign Rashford, and he has now returned to Old Trafford.

He has been linked with moves to Barcelona and, this week, Bayern Munich.
