Paul Scholes once sent Marcus Rashford a warning after Manchester United punished the forward for a disciplinary issue.
On Sunday, Ten Hag said he would deal with Rashford after omitting the player from Unitedās squad for a 4-2 win over Newport County because of an āinternal matterā.
Rashford reported ill for training on Friday, hours after allegedly being pictured at a nightclub in Belfast. The 26-year-old is said to have attended Thompsons Garage nightclub on Thursday before Āflying home by private jet the following morning.
Ten Hag ruled ĀRashford out of his sideās trip to Newport on Friday because of illness, while in a statement on Sunday United said the player āstayed at Carrington to train as he recoversā.

However, speaking ahead of Unitedās win in South Wales, the Dutchman said: āHe reported ill and the rest is an internal matter. It is an internal matter. As I said, we will deal with it. I will deal with it.ā
Ten Hag refused to expand when asked why Rashfordās absence was deemed an in-house matter, but his comments have raised suspension that the England international may face disciplinary action.
Rashford may heed the past advice of United legend Paul Scholes, as he attempts to return to his managerās good books.
In December 2022 Rashford was left out of the starting line-up for Unitedās game against Wolves, with the official reason given by the Old Trafford club being ādisciplinaryā.

At the time Scholes, a United icon, suggested that Rashford was to blame and worried for his development going forward.
Speaking to BT Sport, he said: "Heās jeopardising his own form a little bit by being stupid or whatever heās done is wrong and the manager has seen it to take him out of the team.
"But when he is on form, heās looked so happy and if you look over the last 18 months, heās looked miserable and hasnāt performed, could this jeopardise him going forward?
āHe looks a bit miserable there [warming up] because heās not playing but I hope it doesnāt jeopardise the next six months of the season."
