Marcus Rashford has made his feelings clear on Liverpool as club plots shock bid for Man Utd outcast

The England international has spoken out about his feelings towards Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford has already revealed how he feels about Liverpool amid reports Arne Slot is plotting a shock move for the Manchester United star.

After Ruben Amorim's arrival at Old Trafford back in November, it quickly became clear that Rashford's days at United were numbered.

Just two months after the Portuguese manager took over from former boss Erik ten Hag, he allowed Rashford to join Premier League rivals Aston Villa on a short-term loan until the end of the season.

Since the end of this loan, it has been widely speculated that Rashford will not play for United again and will leave the club in a permanent deal this summer, with the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain linked.

A shock report on Wednesday revealed that Liverpool are among the clubs reportedly considering a move for Rashford, and the United winger has already revealed how he feels about his former rivals.

Across all of football, there is perhaps no fiercer rivalry than the one between Liverpool and Manchester United, with the two clubs having competed against each other at the top of English football for decades.

Thought the two club's history, only nine players have ever moved from United to Liverpool, and Rashford's previous comments about the Merseyside club would suggest he would not be keen on becoming the 10th.

Speaking in 2022 on an episode of The Shop, Rashford spoke about his feelings towards Liverpool and how the rivalry compares to United's with Manchester City.

Asked if there are any teams he dislikes, the forward said: “Liverpool. I don’t like Liverpool, and City.

“Obviously Liverpool have history so it is a bit more bitter but, with City, it’s like you don’t like them but you don’t really have a massive reason not to like them.

“You just grow up and it’s two Manchester sides, one wears light blue and one wears red. But the rivalry with Liverpool, it feels much more.”

However, the England international has more than just negative things to say about Liverpool, as he later admitted that Anfield was the best atmosphere that he has ever had the chance to play in.

Speaking to United's TikTok account, Rashford said: "Best away, atmosphere wise, as a fan? Anfield. Yeah, I've been to Anfield a few times. One time whilst I've been playing... in a hoodie and a hat!"

Are Liverpool interested in signing Rashford this summer?

According to The Daily Mail, Rashford is among the six candidates that Liverpool are considering if their dream signing of Newcaslte United striker Alexander Isak is unsuccessful.

The report claims Rashford was "floated as an idea" but he appears to be near the bottom of their shortlist as things have "not progressed so far".

Ollie Watkins, Brentford striker Yoan Wissa, Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike and Real Madrid's Rodrygo are the other names believed to be on Liverpool's shortlist.
