Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for the £40 million-rated Al Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, but they face stiff competition from two other Premier League clubs, including Everton.

Ruben Amorim will be hoping to work alongside a new centre-forward in the coming months as he continues his much-talked about rebuild – and a number of high-profile names have been linked.

After working under Amorim at Sporting, the in-form Victor Gyokeres continues to be rumoured as a possible target alongside the likes of Victor Osimhen, Randal Kolo Muani and Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta.

United have also been approached by the representatives of former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham over a possible transfer, with the club being informed about the player’s willingness to move.

The rumour mill is in full swing ahead of the new campaign and on Monday, it was suggested that former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic could leave the Saudi Pro League this summer as they look at other options.

A report from talkSPORT suggests Al Hilal are prepared to sell or loan Mitrovic, who is prepared to take a pay cut on his current £400,000 per week contract.

Manchester United are said to be considering a move for the 30-year-old alongside fellow Premier League clubs West Ham and Everton, while former club Fulham are not expected to try and bring the player back to Craven Cottage.

Interested parties may have to be patient as Al Hilal want to finalise a replacement ahead of the Club World Cup this summer.

After making a name for himself at Fulham, Mitrovic joined the Saudi side in 2023 for a club-record transfer fee of around £50 million. He has since scored 62 goals in 72 games for the Riyadh-based club.

The previously mentioned report also indicates that Viktor Gyokeres is the so-called 'dream' target for United, but there are still question marks over whether the player wants to join Amorim at United after they failed to secure European football.

Al Hilal, meanwhile, are confident about signing Bruno Fernandes this summer. The midfielder, who was United's standout performer last season, is giving serious consideration to an an eye-watering £700,000 per week offer from the Saudi Pro League side.
