Ruben Amorim has reportedly made his first big decision ahead of the summer transfer window, recommending a big-name player for the Old Trafford exit door.
The Manchester United head coach is believed to have sincerely offered his no-questions-asked resignation in the aftermath of Wednesday's Europa League final defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
But Amorim is expected to remain in his post and the decision has apparently been made to give more than one first team regular the boot.

The former Sporting CP boss, who has struggled to elicit any kind of tangible improvement since taking over from Erik ten Hag earlier in the season, has already discussed the player with United co-owner and football operations chief Jim Ratcliffe.
Along with Andre Onana, Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro could be shuffled away from Old Trafford.
Unlike most of his teammates, 33-year-old Casemiro has rediscovered some form under Amorim.

Well suited to the Europa League, Casemiro's performances on the way to the final won him praise from all quarters.
Amorim was impressed too. According to the Manchester Evening News, he shared his positive review with Ratcliffe in a recent text message.
"Amorim and Ratcliffe speak every week by phone and occasionally communicate in a WhatsApp group that includes other senior club figures," reported the MEN.
"The Portuguese head coach is understood to share his thoughts after each game in a mini-match report, while data is fed into the group chat too.

"And his thoughts on Casemiro go some way to showing the player's considerable improvement over the course of this season, having initially been used sparingly by Amorim."

Casemiro joined the Red Devils after nearly a decade at Real Madrid, where he won La Liga three times and the Champions League five times.
The deal was worth a reported £60 million with a host of add-ons that presumably haven't been unlocked.

The midfielder has played 75 times for Brazil but has been widely considered to be past his best in the Premier League
Despite encouraging displays in the Europa League and his ability to bring some quality and pedigree to United's game, it's believed Ratcliffe and Amorim are now willing to let him leave the club.
