Manchester United are reportedly plotting a surprise move for a Champions League winner who hasn't been able to agree on a new contract.
After a disappointing 15th place finish last season, United have been busy in the summer transfer market - snapping up Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in an £133.5 million spree.
The Red Devils are still expected to be on the hunt for further reinforcements and on Sunday, news emerged claiming that United could make a pounce for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with his contract talks stalling.
The Italy played an integral role in PSG's long-awaited Champions League success and is expected to be finish high on this year's Ballon d'Or shortlist after his contributions in an excellent, treble-winning season.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the club have not been able to agree a contract with the former AC Milan shotstopper and his existing deal is poised to expire at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
United are said to be waiting in the wings, having seen Andre Onana make a series of errors since signing from Inter Milan in 2023.
According to L'Equipe, Manchester City are also monitoring the situation despite the imminent return of James Trafford after City agreed to pay £27 million to bring him back amid uncertainty about the future of goalkeepers Ederson and Stefan Ortega.
PSG already have new goalkeeper move pending
PSG appear to be preparing for life without Donnarumma, with both L'Equipe and Romano reporting that they are closing on the signing of Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

The 23-year-old has agreed personal terms for a five-year deal with PSG, who are still in talks with Lille over a move which cost them upwards of €40 million.
Donnarumma signed on a free transfer in 2021 and has grown into one of the best goalkeepers in the world, keeping 12 clean sheets last season.
He is on course to win the Yashin Trophy given to the best goalkeeper for a second time and would likely still command a hefty package in terms of transfer and wages despite his contract situation.
