Man Utd move for top transfer target could be blocked because of CEO Omar Berrada

A deal could be tricky because of Manchester United chief Omar Berrada.

Manchester United's transfer pursuit for one of their top targets could be blocked because of CEO Omar Berrada.

Man United plan to recruit new talent when the transfer window reopens this summer.

It will mark Ruben Amorim's first pre-season, having arrived at Old Trafford midway through the season after he replaced Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last October.

The Red Devils are thought to be in the market for a new forward following the dismal form of Rasmus Hojlund, who has been linked with a shock club.

Hojlund, who joined the club from Atalanta for £72 million, has scored just four goals in the Premier League this season.

Several forwards have been linked with a move to Man United, including Inter Milan's Marcus Thuram.

But a move for Thuram could prove tricky because of Berrada.

Man United are 'big fans' of Thuram but a deal could be difficult to strike as his agent does not get on with Berrada, according to The Sun.

Sports Cover represent the France international and they are rumoured to have a rift with the Man United chief.

The 27-year-old has attracted plenty of interest following his goal-scoring exploits.

He has bagged an impressive 18 goals across all competitions this season.

Thuram isn't the only forward on Man United's transfer wish-list as Berrada is confident of the club's recruitment strategy with Amorim at the helm.

"I think it's riskier if you have a coach that doesn't have a clear idea of how he wants to play," he explained. "And with Ruben we don't see that risk.

"And when it comes to our recruitment strategy, without commenting too much, the idea we have is to be able to bring in versatile players that can be adaptable to multiple systems.

"And ultimately Ruben himself has said it, it's not about the 3-4-3 tactical formation, it's about an idea, a concept of how he wants to see the team playing. He wants to see the team playing more on the front foot, more of a possession, attacking-based style of football.

"So for that, you need players that can play in multiple positions that can adapt to that vision that Ruben has. And this is what we're going to try to do over the next years in our recruitment."
