Manchester United's 'best signing in years' has been disclosed by club insiders in a new report.
The Red Devils have made a number of glaring mistakes when it comes to recruitment in recent years, particularly in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Jadon Sancho, Antony, Andre Onana, Manuel Ugarte and Rasmus Hojlund are just some of the players who have not cut it after arriving at Old Trafford for significant fees.
United are hopeful that their three high-profile signings, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo and Benjamin Sesko, will not follow the same trend after joining for a combined total of more than £200 million.

Signing for Bruno Fernandes for £47 million has been one of United's rare examples of good business but a new report from Andy Mitten in The National, sheds light on another addition who is viewed as being a positive one.
Man United's 'best signing in years'
According to Mitten, multiple insiders at United say Noussair Mazraoui is "the best signing they have made in years".

The Moroccan joined United from Bayern Munich for around £12.8 million and has played in a number of positions, including central defence, wing-back and even as a No.10 for one game under Erik ten Hag.
It's claimed that Mazraoui impresses teammates and coaches with the way he understands the game and is "consistent week after week, delivering with a seven or an 8/10 performance".
Though he came with a vast level of experience, the report notes that those at United have been "surprised" about his agility, aggression and strength.
Mazraoui was interviewed for the piece and spoke about a number of topics after his first season in English football, naming Mo Salah, Karou Mitoma and Anthony Elanga as his toughest opponents.

Although he has a habit of being a utility man, the former Ajax man did also reveal that he does have a preferred position where he performs best.

"I've been playing now a very long time as the right full-back," he explained.
"And lately also the right centre-back. Right full-back is my favourite position, my best position as well. That's where everything goes automatic. When I get the ball, I know my options. I know what I can do, what I can't do. I know how to defend. It's less thinking, it's more enjoying.

Mazraoui missed United's first two games of the season but after starting in the last-gasp win over Burnley last time out, he is expected to get the nod in Sunday's derby against rivals Manchester City.
