One of Manchester United's newest recruits has received a glowing review from Sir Alex Ferguson following an "outstanding" start to life at Old Trafford.
All eyes were on United's recruitment strategy after they finished 15th in the Premier League last season – a campaign that was widely regarded as one of the worst in the club's modern history.
In total, they spent around £215 million on transfers, with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens arriving before the window slammed shut.

Lammens, who joined on deadline day from Royal Antwerp in a deal worth £18 million plus add-ons, was soon picked ahead of Altay Bayindir for their Premier League clash against Sunderland.
United haven't looked back since that day. Described as having a calm presence between the sticks, the Belgian has impressed many, including fellow goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
"He has a strong personality," he told the Training Ground Guru podcast. "His goalkeeping fundamentals are very impressive. I said that to him after a couple of days' training. He's been very impressive so far."
Lammens, who has made five appearances for United since his move, was one of the standout performers in the Belgian Pro League last season, keeping seven clean sheets in 30 games.

In fact, he ranked first for total saves made (173) with a 77.4 per cent save percentage.
Sir Alex Ferguson heaps praise on "outstanding" summer signing
Speaking at the Bahrain International Trophy horse race, former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson heaped praise on the "outstanding" Lammens.
Asked if he was pleased with how United are currently performing, Ferguson told Raceday RTV: "There are signs they are getting used to the manager."

He continued: "The goalkeeper has been outstanding. He’s only played three or four games, but he’s looking really good. Of course, Mbuemo and Cunha, from Brentford and Wolves, have added to it."
"I hope the manager gets some success," added Ferguson. "There are signs it's getting better. I think back-to-back wins is something teams like United should always expect. But having gone through a cycle where the improvement has to come by waiting and being patient, they are enjoying it now."
