Manchester United have engaged in 'constructive' talks with the Premier League after they expressed concern over their upcoming fixture list.
Ruben Amorim’s side will host Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon in what will be their only home fixture on a weekend from October 5 to December 25.
It comes after the dates of four United fixtures in December were changed following a broadcast announcement from the Premier League.
In fact, across that 12 week period between October 5 and December 25, United have three consecutive midweek home fixtures (Everton, West Ham and Bournemouth).

The club's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers that was originally set for Saturday December 6 will also take place on Monday December 8 at 8pm.

It appears their home clash against Newcastle United could fall on Boxing Day, which is a Friday, although that has yet to be confirmed.
Omar Berrada, who is United's CEO, has spoken to Premier League chief Richard Masters about the situation, according to The Athletic, who claim they engaged in a constructive conversation.

In addition to expressing their concerns about the amount of midweek games they will play in the coming weeks, United also requested a change in how the games were scheduled.
As per the above report, they want to 'ensure that future fixtures around the festive period are selected for broadcast at a much earlier stage' so fans can be informed as early as possible ahead of a busy festive period.
Man Utd's midweek friendly plans hampered by fixture list
United were expected to play a mid-season friendly in Saudi Arabia to fill the financial black hole from failing to qualify for Europe, but the Premier League fixture list has seemingly complicated matters.

A midweek trip is now 'less straightforward to accommodate' in the coming months, according to The Athletic.
The club earned an estimated £7.8 million during their post-season tour of Asia, which featured games against ASEAN All Stars and Hong Kong.

Speaking about the tour, Omar Berrada voiced the importance of friendlies. "Importantly, Tour fixtures drive significant additional revenue which help make the club stronger, allowing us to keep investing in success on the pitch," he said.

"They also create unique opportunities for us to collaborate with our valued commercial partners, and to deepen relationships with our fans in regions such as Asia and the US."
