Man City star officially hands in transfer request and is top of Premier League side's wishlist

Manchester City appear braced for another departure after reports claimed one of their players had handed in a transfer request.

City are set for a summer of change following Pep Guardiola's exit after a trophy-laden decade - and Bernardo Silva and John Stones moving on to Real Madrid and Inter Milan respectively following their contracts coming to an end.

James Trafford has also been sold by the club for a second time, signing for Leeds United in a £40 million which sees him become the most expensive British goalkeeper in history.

But while there is ongoing speculation about Rodri's future amid strong Real Madrid links, City's next departee looks to be set in stone.

According to an exclusive report from Fabrizio Romano, City winger Savinho has informed the club that he wishes to leave.

The Brazilian joined from sister club Troyes in 2024 for a fee of £30.8 million and scored seven goals in 84 appearances in all competitions.

However, Savinho struggled for consistency and regular minutes at City and now "wants to play more and develop in his career" according to Romano.

Big-spending Spurs appear to be leading contenders for Savinho, with their interest well-documented.

According to Gary Jacob of The Times, Spurs are working on a £60 million deal for the 22-year-old in the next step in Roberto De Zerbi's rebuild.

Spurs have already splashed out £237m on the likes of Sandro Tonali, Jean Paul van Hecke and Mateus Fernandes but are poised go all out for Savinho, who they did try and sign for a slightly higher fee last summer.

Savinho has been included in City's pre-season tour squad for the trip to Hong Kong and South Korea, with Enzo Maresca's men jetting out on Tuesday.

However, he could well leave the tour early in order to complete a likely move away.

Man City announce two contract extensions amid transfer speculation

There are more expected outgoings at City this summer but the FA Cup and Carabao Cup champions have been able to tie down two of their most important players.

Boyhood City fan and academy graduate Phil Foden agreed a new four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium as he expressed excitement over working with Maresca.

The deal keeps him at City until 2030 and also includes the option for an additional 12 months.

Similarly, City were successful in retaining defender Josko Gvardiol after he was the subject of intense speculation.

The Croatian was rumoured to have attracted interest from both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who saw him as a priority signing in their backline.

However, he committed his future to City by penning a new five-year deal and said he has "everything I need here".

Gvardiol missed a chunk of last season due to a broken shinbone suffered against Chelsea back in January.

After undergoing successful surgery, he returned towards end of the campaign before featuring for Croatia at the World Cup in North America.

City kick off pre-season with a meeting with Inter in Hong Kong this Saturday, before taking on a K League All Stars side in Seoul and then locking horns with Atletico Madrid.
